History of the First London County Council. By William Saunders.

(National Press Agency.)—It was a reasonable thing, in view of the approaching renewal of the Council, that one of its most active member/ (Mr. Saunders numbered 228 out of 267 possible attendances —" possible" including committee meetings, &c.) should give an account of its doings. To review these is beyond our province in these columns; so we record the appearance of the book, with a note of its usefulness.
