The young Queen of Spain, and the Queen Regent her

mother, are on a tour in the interior: but the country is unsafe fur the tra- vellers; whose escort was to have been attacked near Medina Celi by a strong body of the rebels. The attempt to seize the two Queens was defeated by a division of the Royal army, who routed the rebels, and, it is said, took 1,317 prisoners to Siguenza. he Queens proceeded to Saragossa which place they reached on
