The Hidden Road. By Joan Sutherland. (Mills and Boon. 6s.)—Those

scenes of the book which are laid in Tibet are much more entertaining than the final chapters, which deal chiefly with a very unnecessary misunderstanding between the hero and heroine. Miss Sutherland has obviously studied her eastern mise-en-scene with extreme care, and succeeds almost in making her readers believe that she herself has visited Lhasa.
