Sir: Taki's description of himself as 'a loyal future husband of the Princess of Wales' (High life, 11 December) may not be as preposterous as it sounds. His fellow coun- tryman wasted no time in becoming the consort of the newly widowed Jackie Kennedy and isn't it about time for a re-run of Beauty and the Beast?
