Cambridge University is, at the present moment at all events,

'Conservative by nearly three to one. Mr. Raikes,—a very strong partisan, and by no means a man of high learning or other academical reputation,—was on Tuesday returned for the University with 3,491 votes, against only 1,301 for his much more learned and probably much abler rival, Professor Stuart. In other words, Cambridge University cares little for learning as cothpared with Toryism, and likes its Toryism rather rank.
