CONDITIONS IN FRANCE

SIR,—I shall be glad if you will allow me to correct a mistake which occurred in my letter, published in The Spectator of January 26th, when the weekly rations in Paris appeared as 3 oz. meat and lb. sugar. The rations for civilians, in December, were 3 oz. meat, 1- lb. potatoes or macaroni or dried vegetables, z oz. butter or fat, 2 oz. sugar per week— Yours faithfully, M. H. de J. MILLER.
