Chapters on ('oronations, is a popular account of the origin,

nature, and history of these ceremonial rites of royalty ; and con- tains much matter in a small compass. The fashion and uses of the regalia and robes, the ditli•rent formalities of inauguration, and the order of the procession and banquet, are minutely de- scribed; and these Inure dry details are followed by a series of anecdotes, illustrating the different st)les of successive corona- tions, and the bearing of the chief actors in the pageants. Among the most amusing of these are BONNEL Tnoesrroe's description of the coloration of GEORGE the Third, and Sir 'WALTER SCOTT'S of GEORGE the Fourth. Wood-engravings of the regalia, and copies of old priots representing ancient proces- sions, illustrate this unpretending but interesting little volume.
