WEMBLEY FOR THE HOSPITALS

[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—I have heard it suggested that some of our West End hospitals should be transferred bodily to Wembley, leaving, of course, receiving stations and clinics for out-patients. The buildings are not, of course, quite suitable, but might surely be adapted without much difficulty, and the fresh air and quiet would be invaluable ; even the distance from Harley Street is quite negligible nowadays, and the consultants them- selves would benefit immensely by the drive into the country.— I am, Sir, &c.,

J. B. PENNINGTON, I.C.S. (retd.).
