CHURCH IN DANGER

A FEW months ago, we noticed the launch of Church in Danger, a group founded by MPs, peers and journalists to draw atten- tion to the threats to the unity of the Church of England and to defend the Church's orthodoxy, traditional liturgy and comprehensive role in the life of the nation. Church in Danger. has now pub- lished its manifesto, a short statement of concerns and general aims. Other, more specific pamphlets will follow. Copies of the manifesto can be had free from Church in Danger, PO Box 132, East Rudham, Norfolk PE31 80T. However, all contribu- tions are most welcome and much needed. Cheques should be made payable to Church in Danger. The group now has charitable status, and so people may cove- nant to it. As the manifesto says, `... if something is not done, the Church of England may, in perhaps as little as 20 years, disintegrate.'
