In our delight over Paardeberg and Ladysmith we must not

forget the advance on the Southern Frontier, which, though less sensational, is strategically of great importance. Not only have we entered Colesberg, but General Brabant has taken Jamestown and defeated the Boers in an action which a fortnight ago we should have regarded as a great victory. Fifty Boers were killed, one hundred and twenty- three wounded, and three hundred missing.
