[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—Congratulations on the improvement

of the Spectator. I hope and feel sure that the new venture will be a great success. For many years the Spectator has kept many of us who live on the outskirts of the Empire " ALIVE." I only Wish we could receive it more regularly, but that is the fault of our mail service. My last copy is November 4th, 1022. This, as you are well aware, is a wonderful country. Black though Kenya and we settlers arc sometimes painted, in the near future this pearl of Empire will go ahead as few colonies have done before.—I am, Sir, &e.,

Muringato, Nyeri, Kenya. C. O'HAGAN, Capt.
