Art in France. "Ars Una" Series. By Louis Hourticq. (W.

Heinemann. 6s. net.)—To condense the whole art of France into one small volume must have been a formidable task, and we marvel how well it has been done. The general descriptions of phases of art are excellent, and the author has the wideness of view which is wanted for a book of this kind. The illustrations, of which there are a great number, are too tiny to be of much use; a better plan would have been to have reduced the number and increased their size.
