Young England : Twenty - ninth Annual Volume. (The Pilgrim Press. 5s.)—A

magazine that endeavours to cater for the tastes of "boys throughout the English-speaking world" must neces- sarily cover a wide range. And this Young England certainly does. There are articles, and very good ones, on every con- ceivable subject, and the chief serial, "A Son of the Stars," deals with life in the planet Mars ! We are warned in this case that the writer's imagination "has boldly run on ahead of the more cautious and deliberate conclusions of science," and we fear that facts will indeed seem dull things after reading Mr. Fenton Ash's thrilling story.
