(Macmillan and Co.)—The plan of the original edition, published in 1876, has been altered in so much that instead of commencing at the lowest and microscopical forms of life, the order begins at the rabbit, the frog, and the pigeon, frbm them descending to invertebrate forms, and ascending through the vegetable orders. This is, no doubt, practically speaking, a far better plan than the old one.
