It is five months since the German war, and with

it the bombing of London, ended. The British Museum was naturally closed while the danger existed. It remains closed still—every department of it, I understand. This seems unfortunate. Surely some part of .the museum could be opened to the public" It attracts a large number of people in peace time ; it would attract a large number today if only it would open or half-open its doors. In particular there are numbers of American soldiers in London whip may never be in London again and would like, if they could, to get at least a glimpse of the inside of one of the most notable buildings in London Couldn't the Trustees make an effort?
