SPECTATOR COMPETITION No. 86

never were, wriiten=such as the " Essay on Wonman'! by Alexander Pope, or ' The Aeronauts" by Lord Tennyson. A prize of £5, which may be divided, is offered for the title and first six lines from one such poem each by any two of the following :Marvell, Dryden, Keats, Browning, Hardy, D. B. Lawrence.

Entries must be addressed to the Spectator, 99 Gower Street, London, W.C.1, in envelopes marked "Competition," and must he received not later than October 17th. Results will be published in' the Spectator of October 26th.
