We have received a second edition of A Popular History

of Astronomy during the Nineteenth Century, by Agnes M. Clerks (Adam and Charles Black, Edinburgh), and are glad to see that the success of what cannot be a low-priced volume should have been so considerable. The new edition has been brought up, it should be said, to the present time ; and this, though there is not a space of a year and a half between the two, has involved no small amount of change and addition.
