LITERARY ANNOUNCEMENTS.

ROOKS IN THE PRESS, OR PREPARING FOR PUIILICATION.

A fourth edition of Lord Collingwood's Memoirs and Correspondence. A second edition of Sir Alexander Millet's Letter on Fagging at Winchester Mad. Mr. Moore's Life of Lord Byron has gone to press.

Washington Irving's Tales of the Bloors will be out in a few weeks. They are to comprise a history of the rise, glory, and downfal, of Cite Moors in Spain, composed by Irving, chiefly out of MSS., during his recent stay at Seville.

Clapperton's Travels are nearly ready. They include a memoir of his life, and a full account of his death. Drawn up by his faithful servant.

The Cambrian Quarterly and Celtic Repertory. The manuscript ofa new History of India, from the earliest times, by Mr. J. A. St. John and Mr. Leitch Ritchie, is in the printer's hands.

Mr. J. A. St. John and Mr. Leitch Ritchie, are also preparing for early publication a History of the Revolutions of South America. A new Cycloptedia has been announced by Messrs. Longman, Rees, and Co. and John Taylor, in which some of the first men of the age are said to have united their labours : the management is intrusted to Dr. Lanlaier. One of the peculiarities of this work is, the production of treatises on the most abstruse departments of science and art, divested altogether of their technical language and symbols, and presented in such a form, that all their most important results will be intelligible to the general reader.
