A TENNYSON POEM sm,—more than a century ago Tennyson, in

a poem entitled " Britain " (not to be found in his collected works), wrote a stanza that will, I feel sure, be welcomed by your readers in this hour

strife in " the valley of decision." But the whole poem deserveses of be read.

" God keep us strong as we are free, Free in the freedom of His law, And brave all wrong to overawe, Strong in the strength of unity."
