IMPORT DUTIES.

[TO TEE EDITOR OF THE " SPECTATOR21

SIR,—It is most refreshing to find you dealing so faithfully in the Spectator of May 31st with Mr. Bullen, who wishes with all his soul " that our rulers would have the courage to impose an import duty upon all manufactured imports of foreign origin equal to the duties levied upon our goods in the various countries." As you say so well, the notion is a pure delusion.

—I am, Sir, &c., WILLIAM TATTERSALL. Met brook, Bowdon, Cheshire.
