Corneal', by S. Baring-Gould, has been added to the series

of " Cambridge County Geographies " (Cambridge University Press, ls. 6d.), and will not fail to keep up the reputation of that excellent series. This is, on the whole, a land of small farms, but not of small freeholds. Of occupying owners there are but 91 per cent., as against 33 in Surrey. Of special cultures the flower- farming in Scilly is the most interesting. It is favoured by climate and the seaweed manure, which may be had for the gathering.
