B.A. WESTERN.

After dealing with the unfavourable factors, such as the movement in the Argentine Exchange, which had adversely affected the profit-earning power of the company, the Chair- man of the Buenos Ayres Great Western Railway, Mr. Follett Holt, at the recent meeting of shareholders, spoke in fairly hopeful terms with regard to the future. He was able to state that, as a result of economies and the aid of a heavy maize crop, the company had secured for the first three months of the current year better sterling results than for the same months of last year, and it was hoped that progress would continue, though he was careful to add that the final results must depend largely upon the crop outcome and upon exchange. * * * *
