VILE BOAT OF LONGING. By 0. E. Ri3lvaag. (Harpers, 7s. 6d.)—What really became of Nils, who left Jo by the Sea and 'Mother Anna ' and sailed to seek his fortune in America ? Nils and his father see visions, and the boat of longing appears to many : but Nils is such a pleasant, simple-minded hem that we take an interest in his material welfare. Mr. Rolvaag's book is visionary, but it is instinct with love of the sea, of music, and of the Norwegian fisher-folk.
