The Besom - Maker, and other Country Songs. Collected and illus- trated

(Longmans.)—" This little book," .says the editor, "contains a few old-fashioned country songs, songs which may still be heard when ploughmen strike their furrows, and still sung at harvest suppers by the old folk who do not change their tune to the times." Each song is furnished with its tune, and is adorned with some appropriate drawings. The illustrations to "Forty Dukes a-Riding " are as good as any.
