The Snail Mail
As the banks have issued a statement to the effect that the whole mechanism of cheque- clearing is being impeded by post office delays, I think I'll add my own contribution to the folk- lore of the go-slow office. Last week a parcel posted from this office took eight days to reach an address in N19, but one sent to Chiswick, say a mile or two nearer Gower Street, took only a week! 'How's that for the New Britain?
