History of West Point. By Captain. E. C. Boynton, Adjutant
of the Military Academy. (Sampson Low, Son, and Marston.)—An exceedingly handsome volume embellished by plans and views which are really beautifully executed. It is also written in a plain straightforward style, but the subject, in itself technical, is treated with a rigorous adherence to the matter in hand which renders the book unattractive to the general reader. There is, however, a very interesting *account of the proceedings against Major Andre, who was tried at West Point.
