There is a great deal of variety in the contents

of the Girl's Own Paper, and the teaching by example, in the shape of the stories, is

always of the soundest. In the March number, moreover, there are some really good papers, such as "Hungarian Embroidery" and "The Artistic Life of Louisa Pyne." But there is a tendency, and apparently an increasing tendency, to what can only be styled dowdiness of style. In this case,—verb. sap.
