Spectator poll

As in recent years, the SPECTATOR is con- ducting a confidential poll of all those attending the Conservative party conference this week. _Its purpose is to elicit the opinions of the Tories at Brighton on the conference itself, on the issues debated (or not debated), and on the present state of the Conservative party.

We are grateful to those who take part in the poll by filling in the brief questionnaire which is being distributed at the conference : since anonymity is being preserved we cannot thank them individually. The result will be analysed in detail in next week's SPECTATOR.
