Morgan, (Hodder and Stoughton. fis. 6d.)—This is, as its title and' its sub-title, "A Book of Consolation," indicate, a book of devotion. The subject is one (livery considerable difficulty. There might be an advantage in taking the very simplest account of pain, that it is Nature's protective warning against danger, and working down or up from that to its indirect purposes or results. Anyhow, readers will find much thought, and not a few apposite illustrations, in Mr. Morgan's book.
