A gang of thieves has just been discovered at Rome,
all the mem- bers of which belong to noble families, and several of whom are even serving in the Pope's body guard. They were most of them looked upon as persons of more than ordinary piety. Countess Com- pagnoni, of Macerate, was the first to denounce their proceedings. Among those already arrested, are Count Ditalisio da Treja and the Countess Angeliteci da Treja. At their houses were found a great number of watches, snuff. boxes, jewels, &c. ; many of which have since been recognized as stolen property.
