The Early Narratives of Genesis. By Herbert Edward Ryle, B.D.
(Macmillan.)—The narratives which Professor Ryle examines aro the Creation, the Story of Paradise, the Story of Cain and Abel. the Genealogies, the Floods, the post-Diluvian Genealogies. All along the author compares and contrasts the Babylonian narra- tives. The book may be highly commended as an honest attempt, made by a writer of much ability and learning, to put the narra- tive on a footing which is consistent with criticism and the pur- poses of edification. We cannot discuss the treatment of the various subjects in detail, but we may say that it seems to us in an eminent degree candid and reasonable.
