EARLY EDITION OF THE SPECTATOR.
ON and after Saturday next, the 19th instant, we shall issue an edition of the SPECTATOR in time for the early morning trains, so that it can be delivered in every town of the country on the same afternoon.
In our:last number for 1858 we stated that endeavours would be made to improve our paper in every department. We have since devoted considerable exertion and expense to the fulfilment of that promise. The progress that we have made is before the reader, who cannot have failed to observe at least the increase in the sum of original information. In a short time we hope that the whole of our plan will be completed, and we shall then more fully explain the scope and purpose of the changes. But we do not wish promise to be too far in advance of performance.
