The Mayor of Liverpool, in compliance with a numerously-signed requisition,
has summoned a public meeting of the inhabitants of Liver- pool for Wednesday next, to consider the Corn-laws.
The Manchester manufacturers subscribed nearly 2,000/. at the meet- ing on Thursday night, and resolved to make up the sum of 5,000/. Mr. Greg said, that the interest on this subject had extended itself to the remotest part of the country. Several extensive manufaaturers de- clared that they had made no profit for a long time, and that their capi- tals were in jeopardy.
