The result of the proceedings before the Dublin Election Committee
is very doubtful. Last week the decisions of the Committee all told against the sitting Members ; but on Wednesday it was determined, that the persons liable to the Paving-tax in Dublin had a right to six months' credit; and this decision restored 190 out of 290 votes, which the sitting Members had lost by previous decisions. Yesterday after- noon, however, the Committee resolved that a voter, who was regis- tered as the occupier of certain premises, though in fact only a lodger, was liable to the payment of the Paving-tax; and this, it is said, will deprive the sitting Members of 70 votes.
