Sir: Nigel Sitwell contends (26 February) that carbon dioxide from conventional fuels will in time inevitably cause tidal waves to sweep inland. He suggests that we might defer that time by building nuclear power stations instead of conventional ones.
But won't these nuclear power stations on the coast then be inundated and broken by the tidal waves? So we shall risk being flooded and irradiated at the same time.
