THE THREAT TO FRIDAY STREET

[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—A fund is being raised to save some sixty acres of woodland and meadow between Wotton and Abinger Commons from the possibility of being built on. The land includes one side of Friday Street pond—which is a delight to thousands of Londoners and others who come to see it and the country

round it. •

We have still nearly £3,000 to raise and only nine days to do it in, as the option will expire on Thursday, Oct. 17. Many Spectator readers must know or know of Friday Street and Leith Hill.
