TRANSLATION "HOWLERS."

SIR,—May I add a " translation ` howler " to those given by your correspondents "J." and " F. A. A."? At a large school in the South-West of England a master, who was rather curious to test the ability of one of the pupils, asked him : " What is the English translation of Honi soit qui mil y pensel " The unhesitating (reply was : " Honey is sweet which you think bitter."
