A NEW APPELLATION FOR NEW ZEALAND.
[To THE EDITOR OP THE "SPECTATOR:] SIR,—On reading your remarks in the issue of July 6th on the proposed new name for New Zealand, two names
suggested themselves to me which I should like to offer for the consideration of the readers of the Spectator. They are " Territory " and "State." The former would sound well, while the latter, though less euphonious, would perhaps be more suitable and expressive.—I am, Sir, &c., E. P.
