Sir: The fact that we have been unable to find war criminals in Kosovo, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq, or any WMD ('Catch me if you can', 6 September), shouldn't come as a surprise, following our failure to find Lord Lucan, Shergar, Reginald Perrin and the Loch Ness monster. Brian Christley
