The situations are divided into open competitions, ordinary and special (the ordinary being subdivided into periodical and irregular) ; open competitions for female appointments ; open competitions for Indian and Colonial appointments ; and, finally, nomination appointments. Full particulars are given of each of these classes, and specimens of the examination papers set in the competitions are furnished.
