The Great Fire of London in 1666. By Walter George
Bell. (Lane. 10s. 6d. net.)
We must congratulate both Mr. Bell and the public on the fact that his excellent account of the Great Fire of London has reached a third edition within two years and a-half. It is often said that serious books on important historical topics do not pay, but here at least is a noteworthy exception and it does not stand alone. Mr. Bell did his pioneer work so thoroughly and carefully that he found little to amend in this revised edition. We are glad to -find that, though it is much cheaper, this edition contains all the interesting and valuable maps and pictures of the original issue.
