A great gap

Sir: I congratulate the Spectator on Geoffrey Wheatcroft's article on Reynolds Stone.

The miserable little notice about Reynolds Stone in the Daily Telegraph made me, and no doubt others, reflect on the gap in English life left by the absence of The Times's obituaries, a gap in this case well filled by your article.
