Roberts is at his best in stories of the sea, and this collection is no exception to the rule. The sketch entitled " Spink and an Empire " is extremely entertaining, while " His Serene Highness " goes far to redeem the sailor-like qualities of the German nation, attacked in the first story of Spink. People who like sketches of the sea, and of nothing but the sea, cannot do better than read this collection.
