The Lady's World has decidedly improved in arrangement, and in
quality and variety of letterpress, since we noticed the first number, although the stories are by no means so good as they ought to be.
There is plenty—perhaps too much—about artists and theatrical first nights in the May number, and certain short papers on table decora- tion, needlework, and the like are excellent. Fashions are given in profusion. The coloured plate representing a yachting-dress is rather too pronounced in colour, and the face of its wearer wears too vacuous a simper.
