Crockford's Clerical Directory. (Horace Cox. 20s.)—Sundry additions have been made
to this excellent guide, the most important, perhaps, being the correction of the population returns according to the most recent estimates. Various sug- gestions are made in the preface,—the preface has always been a noticeable feature in Crockford. One is the establishment of a D.S.O. for curates, to put it very briefly. Another is the exemption of Easter offerings from ta.xation. Here the donor must co- operate by making it plain that the offering is a gift, with a special object.
