SIR,---Will not you, who have so warmly espoused the cause of 'animals, plead for the poor birds, before our Christmas decora- tions have robbed them of all holly and other berries ? If through your influence the Clergy would order their omission or replacement by tufts of artificial berries amongst the ever- greens in the churches, their example would be followed in our houses, increased employment given to struggling makers, and thousands of poor, shivering, little birds saved from starvation.
