The Gazette of last night contains a despatch from General
Codring- ton, enclosing one from Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Lloyd, commanding Royal Engineers, describing the complete destruction of the docks at Sebastopol. The despatches confirm the published accounts that the operations were very arduous, and much obstructed by rain and wet.
From Constantinople we learn, that the Sultan has attended a ball given by M. Thouvenel, the French Ambassador. Various ladies were introduced to him. Pausing before a portrait of the French Emperor, he remarked—" Je suis heuroux de voir ici la traite de mon auguste riffle, et je prouve la plus grande satisfaction d'être rein chez lui."
