Chambers's Encyclopfedia. Vol. IX. (W. and R. Chambers.)—The articles in
this volume, so far as we have examined them, are correct, brief, and to the point; they are illustrated with small woodcuts, and the maps which are given for each country are clear and good. One of the few errors we noticed was the statement that Verdi is "the only living operatic composer of any note in Italy. What has become of Rossini?
