The Recallers
NOT by our dull abstracted eyes Is the first violet seen ;
It is the children who surprise The purple in the green.
Yet time has been when to our sight A crocus in the snow, Flamed with an ecstasy more bright Than Eden's golden glow.
Now blind and deaf these minds of ours Keep their accustomed track, Till happily to birds and flowers The children call us back.
