TRAINING FOR WOMEN IN SOCIAL ECONOMY.
ITo THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR."] Sun,—At the present time when trained women are so much required to take up posts of all kinds, may I draw the attention of your readers, especially in Scotland, to the fact that an excel- lent training school exists in Glasgow ? I refer to the Queen Margaret Settlement, where training is given in all branches of social work, the fee (including board) being Li is. per week. The student may also attend a course of lectures upon the theoretical side of social economy, and for this course of training, practical and theoretical, a certificate may be obtained. There is at present very little difficulty in securing good posts for women who are thoroughly trained in a Settlement. Full particulars may be had on application to the Warden, Queen Margaret Settlement, 17 Port Street, Anderston, Glasgow.—I am, Sir, he., Lucy M. M. GAIRDNER,
Hon. Sec., Q.M.C.S. Association.
